Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Aspiring Social Justice Officer / Learning Support Assistant in Reading, England. The role offers full-time hours from £108 a day and provides hands-on support for students with SEMH, including ADHD, trauma, and neurodivergence.

You'll work with a team of therapists and school staff in a trauma-informed environment, helping students regulate emotions, stay engaged, and re-enter education with restorative practices.

Qualifications

• Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth & Community Work or related fields.
• Non-graduates with relevant youth work or social care experience welcome.
• Interest in working with at-risk youths in the criminal justice context.
• Calm, patient, and resilient with de-escalation abilities.
• Experience with vulnerable young people SEMH or youth offending desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the classroom and learning activities.
• Help students regulate emotions and re-engage with education.
• Use restorative practices to promote positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with therapists and staff in a trauma-informed setting.
