Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited in the South West are recruiting five Learning Support Assistants to work with students who have additional needs. You will support learners one-to-one and in class, helping them engage with lessons and progress toward individual goals.

Role involves adapting approaches to meet diverse needs, ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment and close collaboration with teaching staff. A proactive, compassionate attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with special educational needs.
• Understanding of EHCP and how it informs support.
• Ability to work one-to-one and in a classroom.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and classroom-based support to students with SEND.
• Working closely with teaching staff to help learners engage with lessons and activities.
• Encouraging students to build confidence, independence and practical skills.
• Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
• Supporting learners in line with their individual EHCP requirements.
