Job summary

Valley End CofE Infant School is hiring a Learning Support Assistant for a fixed term of 3 years, 30 hours per week, term time plus inset days. The role includes in-class support, small group work, and 1:1 SEN assistance, with optional extended care clubs before and after the core day.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships with pupils, maintain a calm and caring attitude, and work well within a team.

Qualifications

• Be able to develop positive relationships with the pupils.
• Have a calm, patient and caring attitude.
• Be an effective team member.
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support for pupils in class, assisting the class teacher.
• Small group intervention work and playground duties at playtime and lunchtime.
• 1:1 assistance with SEN children.
