Learning Support Assistant - SEN

Do you want to help children build their education and life skills? Are you interested in becoming a Learning Support Assistant for SEN pupils?

A local SEN school in the Redland area of Bristol (BS6) is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly team full-time starting this March 2025. The role will involve working under the guidance of the Year 3 class teacher and supporting the pupils academically and emotionally to help improve their independence and life skills.

• £83.33 - £96.15 per day, depending on experience
• Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
• Term time only
• Bristol - BS6

The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, making this an exciting role where no two days are ever the same. You will work with students who may have ASD, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Tourette's, Down syndrome, or other learning needs, so be ready to be flexible and adapt to each student’s needs. The school has a timetabled curriculum that includes lessons dedicated to life skills, so you will help the students with cooking and sports—get ready to make the classroom a fun and exciting place!

The right candidate:

• Maths and English at GCSE - Minimum grade 4/C
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, such as personal experience with a family member, youth work, support work, mental health work, or SEN in sport
• DBS Check required (We can assist with this).
