Job summary

Bilton CofE Junior School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with learning needs and to work with teachers in English and maths. The role involves following outline lesson plans, reinforcing objectives, and helping with class and school routines.

The post requires safeguarding awareness, a DBS check, and the ability to contribute to a calm and inclusive learning environment. Hours are 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with safeguarding responsibilities and collaboration

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent is required.
• Experience with children of infant and junior age, including those with behavioural/learning difficulties.
• Experience as a teaching assistant or helping in a school on a regular basis.
• NVQ Level 1 or equivalent knowledge, experience and skills.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupil and others at the same task, explaining and reinforcing objectives.
• Assist in English and maths lessons with planning and materials, and use ICT to record progress.
• Promote positive behaviour, contribute to class and school displays, and manage routines.
