Job summary

Knutsford Academy seeks an enthusiastic individual to support reading and literacy, building supportive relationships with students and working within our learning support team.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group reading and phonics interventions, track pupil progress, and collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials while supporting SEND and Pupil Premium students. Term-time only, 25.5 hours per week, pro-rata salary.

Knutsford Academy are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who can build supportive relationships with students, based on high expectations, positive regard and care. Candidates will need excellent teamwork and communication skills, a genuine interest in working with young people, flexible thinking and a willingness to learn. Caring, patience and resilience are key. The successful candidate will form part of our wider learning support team with a focus on reading and literacy including:

• Delivering focused 1:1 and small-group reading and phonics interventions.
• Track and record pupil progress to help close attainment gaps.
• Work alongside class teachers and literacy leads to adapt learning materials.
• Support students with special educational needs (SEND) or Pupil Premium funding to build reading fluency and confidence.
• Hours : 25.5 per week (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri (9am to 3.10pm) & Tuesday 9am to 3.40pm Weeks: Term time only (38 weeks per year) FTE salary: £25,990 Grade 5 (Salary is pro-rata to hours and weeks worked - Actual salary £15,076) Closing date: Monday 21st September at 9am Interviews: Tuesday 29th September Start Date: ASAP
