Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Support (Physical Disabilities)
Location: Chesterfield
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Fixed until Summer 2025 (with potential to extend into the new academic year)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work on a one-to-one basis with a Year 2 child with physical disabilities at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support to a child with physical disabilities throughout the school day
Assist with toileting and personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner
Support the child across different classes and help facilitate access to learning
Offer supportive supervision and encouragement during break and lunchtime periods
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure consistent, high-quality support
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be kind, patient, and resilient, with a strong desire to support children with additional needs
Have experience working in education, care, or with children with physical disabilities
Hold a Moving and Handling qualification (or be willing to undertake training)
Have a background in care or personal support (desirable)
Be able to work well within a team and communicate effectively with staff and parents
