Job summary

Randstad Staffing is partnering with a further education college in Bromley to recruit a Learning Support Assistant with a media focus. The role provides targeted 1:1 educational support for a student on a Level 3 Media programme, blending media knowledge with student-focused assistance.

The successful candidate will have a relevant media/journalism qualification and at least Level 2 English and Maths, with strong communication as a key asset. Term-time, on-site work with DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, mobility, safety and wellbeing within the college environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and inclusion team to monitor progress and adapt strategies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 educational, technical, and accessibility support to a student taking a Level 3 Media programme.
• Assist the learner in understanding course content, managing deadlines, and using specialist media equipment or assistive technology.
• Support the student's personal development, social skills, and self-advocacy in line with their target outcomes.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, safety, and general well-being as required within the college environment.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and the learning inclusion team to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: A recognised qualification or degree in Media, Journalism, or a closely related subject is essential. Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Characteristics: Strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and an enthusiastic approach to supporting independent learning.
• Transport/Commute: Ability to reliably commute to the college campus in Bromley.
