Beverley Grammar School is hosting an external vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant L3 Head of Year Link / Literacy, funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. It is a term-time pro rata role at 32.5 hours/week, offering £19,721 per year. The post is part-time and runs Monday to Friday, with DBS clearance required.

The successful candidate will support literacy initiatives and work closely with students, parents, and staff while promoting inclusive education and safeguarding.

Qualifications

Beverley Grammar School is a vibrant, 11–18 boys' comprehensive school with a Joint Sixth form with the neighbouring girls' school. We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant who is a committed team worker, able to establish positive working relationships with students and adults. The person appointed will be able to show sensitivity towards students' problems, liaise effectively with parent/carers and use initiative.

This is an exciting time to join our Learning Support team as we are growing and developing in response to the Government SEN white paper. This Level 3 LSA role will play a vital role in ensuring that 'every child achieves and thrives' with key responsibilities of Head of Year link, and driving the development, implementation and delivery of literacy programmes including Read Write Inc Fresh Start. If you are passionate about literacy and are looking for an exciting next step in supporting young people, this may be the opportunity for you.

You will have:

  • A good standard of general education, to include Maths and English (Grade 4 or above/equivalent).
  • The ability to relate well to young people and ability to use ICT packages effectively.
  • A commitment to supporting the school policies and be prepared to take part in relevant training.

Experience within a secondary school is highly desirable.
