Job summary

Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Whitton, London. The role involves supporting teachers and pupils to promote academic progress, confidence, and independence for students with additional needs.

The LSA will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help implement personalized learning plans, and assist with safeguarding duties. A DBS and compliance checks are required as part of the process.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) – minimum Grade 4 (C) in English and Maths.
• Experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, empathy, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to follow safeguarding policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support, adapting activities to meet individual learning goals.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and implementation of personalized learning plans.
• Monitor and record student progress, reporting observations to senior staff and parents as required.
• Foster positive behaviour, encouraging social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
• Support the use of assistive technologies and resources, ensuring accessibility for all learners.
• Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and safeguarding duties.
