Job summary

City of Wolverhampton College is partnering with The Supply Register to recruit Learning Support Assistants for September 2026 across Wellington Road Campus and City Learning Quarter in Wolverhampton. Roles include in-class support, assisting learners with diverse needs and contributing to inclusive education.

Successful candidates will work alongside lecturers and specialist teams, supporting learners to access the curriculum, build independence and achieve educational goals in a supportive FE

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Experience supporting learners in educational, care, SEND, health or support environments.
• Patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with learners.
• Ability to adapt to different learners, subjects and environments.
• Commitment to inclusive education and learner development.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to learners with additional needs.
• Support learners to access the curriculum and participate in education.
• Encourage learners to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support as needed.
• Work with teaching staff to adapt resources and activities.
• Support positive behaviour and classroom expectations.
• Help learners develop communication, organisational and employability skills.
• Contribute to learner support plans and record progress.
