Roles include in-class support, assisting learners with diverse needs and contributing to inclusive education.

Successful candidates will work alongside lecturers and specialist teams, supporting learners to access the curriculum, build independence and achieve educational goals in a supportive FE

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
  • Experience supporting learners in educational, care, SEND, health or support environments.
  • Patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with learners.
  • Ability to adapt to different learners, subjects and environments.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and learner development.

Responsibilities

Learning Support Assistants September 2026

The Supply Register is pleased to be working in partnership with City of Wolverhampton College to recruit dedicated and committed Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for a range of opportunities commencing in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced education and support professionals to make a positive difference to learners, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop their independence and achieve their educational and personal goals.

Positions are available across both Wellington Road Campus and the City Learning Quarter, supporting learners across a diverse range of courses, programmes and learning needs.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with lecturers, tutors and specialist support teams to provide high-quality, individualised support to learners.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing in-class support to learners with a range of additional needs, including SEND, SEMH, physical disabilities and cognitive learning needs.
  • Supporting learners to access the curriculum and participate fully in their education.
  • Encouraging learners to develop confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Working alongside teaching staff to adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting positive behaviour, engagement and classroom expectations.
  • Helping learners develop communication, organisational and employability skills.
  • Contributing to learner support plans and recording relevant progress and observations.
  • Working collaboratively with specialist support teams and teaching staff.
  • Promoting an inclusive, respectful and supportive learning environment.
Locations

The September opportunities will be based across Wellington Road Campus and the City Learning Quarter.

Successful candidates may support learners across a variety of curriculum areas and programmes. The roles will suit individuals who are adaptable, professional and confident working with learners with different abilities, needs and levels of support.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for these Learning Support Assistant opportunities, candidates must have:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent, in English and Mathematics.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
  • Experience supporting young people or adults within an educational, care, SEND, health or support environment.
  • A patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with learners.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
  • The ability to adapt to different learners, subjects and environments.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and learner development.

A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEND or a relevant discipline would be desirable.

Please note: Candidates must hold the required English and Maths qualifications and have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service to be considered for these roles.
