Job summary

Copper Fields School in Gunnislake is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN/ASC, help with personalised learning, and foster confidence and independence. The role is 37.5 hours per week, permanent, term-time only, starting October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEN/ASC is desirable.
• Flexible, caring and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning.
• Deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences that meet a range of needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence and participation.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development using nurturing approaches.
• Help prepare stimulating classrooms, resources and activities that inspire curiosity and engagement.
• Contribute to the implementation and review of individual education and support plans.
• Monitor progress and share observations to help shape outcomes for pupils.
• Support educational visits and wider learning opportunities.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a strong team culture.
