Job summary

King's Academy Brune Park in Gosport is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with learning, wellbeing and inclusion. You will work with SEND pupils and small groups, helping access lessons and resources while fostering independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and inclusive practice.
• Ability to support learning under the direction of teaching staff.
• Good communication, organisation and basic IT skills.
• Commitment to pupil wellbeing, inclusion and developing independence.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND across four areas of need.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Support pupils in mainstream lessons and adapted curriculum provision.
• Help pupils organise themselves and access learning materials.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive attitudes to learning.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and work as part of a team.
• Observe and report concerns relating to pupil progress or wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SEND team, parents and other professionals.
• Participate in training and professional development.
