Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Staines, Middlesex. You will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to create an inclusive environment that enables pupils to achieve their full academic potential.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, implement IEPs, prepare resources, and monitor progress, while contributing to safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or support setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
• Good organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to pupils with identified learning needs.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and classroom strategies under teacher guidance.
• Support classroom management, preparing resources, and monitoring progress.
• Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere that promotes confidence and independence.
• Record observations and communicate student progress to teachers and parents.
• Assist with the use of assistive technologies and adaptive equipment.
