Job summary

Mark Rutherford School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and calm individual to join our supportive team. The role involves working with students across the school and within the Nightingale Autism Centre to encourage, support and include learners with ASC needs.

We offer a 32.5-hour week, Monday to Friday, term time only plus 5 training days, with a fixed-term contract until August 2027. Training and progression opportunities are provided for dedicated staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with secondary-aged students with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
• Training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and support during lessons.
• Work with students across the school and at the Nightingale Autism Centre.

The successful candidate will work closely with students across the school, providing encouragement and support during lessons, as well as working within our dedicated Nightingale Autism Centre, which is a specialist provision for students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan and a diagnosis of ASC. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people feel confident, included and able to achieve their full potential.

Experience of working with secondary-aged students with additional needs would be desirable, but it is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who have the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. Training and support will be provided.
