Job summary

Deanston Primary School in Deanston invites applications for a temporary Support for Learning Assistant post, working Thursday and Friday mornings. The role reports to the Head Teacher and focuses on building positive relationships, supporting wellbeing and inclusion, and helping pupils engage in learning.

You will work with teaching staff on pupil progress and planning; PVG check will be required. First Aid and neurodiversity understanding desirable.

Qualifications

• Competency with Literacy and Numeracy skills.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Able to work flexibly as part of a team.
• Relate well to children with an inclusive, nurturing approach.
• First Aid training and understanding of neurodiversity desirable.
• PVG for Children check required if shortlisted.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive supporting relationships with children.
• Support physical, social and mental wellbeing needs.
• Promote the school's inclusive ethos.
• Assist pupils to engage in learning through individual, group or whole class activities.
• Provide pupil support during lunch and playtimes.
• Liaise with teaching staff regarding pupil progress and planning.
