Job summary

LSA in Reading is seeking an adaptable Learning Support Assistant to join the FE Support Team. You will work with teaching staff to support learners across courses, helping them overcome barriers, build independence and achieve qualifications.

Reporting to teaching staff, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with note-taking and use of assistive technology, and help tailor materials to individual learning needs to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths required; Level 2/3 supporting qualification desirable.
• Experience with young people or adults in education, care, or youth work.
• Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with diverse learning needs.
• Assist learners with note-taking, organization, and use of assistive technology.
• Help adapt course materials to suit individual learning styles.
• Promote student independence, confidence and engagement across the college.
• Collaborate with tutors to monitor and record student progress and attendance.
