South Devon College is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to help learners who may face barriers to education. You will provide both academic and pastoral support, working with curriculum teams to build confidence and independence in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role is part-time, 22.2 hours per week, during term time, with enhanced DBS checks required. In return, the college offers a supportive culture and a range of professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Good standard of Maths and English (A-C/4-9 or equivalent Level 2)
• Level 2 Learning Support qualification desirable, training can be provided
• Experience supporting young people or learners with additional needs

Responsibilities

• Provide curriculum and pastoral support to learners.
• Support learners to overcome barriers and engage positively in education.
• Assist with behaviour management and learner progress reviews.
• Contribute to assessments, target setting and learner development plans.
• Support educational visits, work placements, and enrolment activities.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and learner wellbeing at all times.
