Job summary

King's Academy Bay House is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in class, groups and one-to-one settings. You will help students with a wide range of SEND needs and contribute to inclusive, supportive learning environments.

You will build trust, work with teachers and SENCo to implement Learning Plans, and use IT to enhance learning while maintaining safeguarding and student wellbeing as core priorities.

Qualifications

• Understanding how children develop, think and learn.
• Create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to implement Learning Plans.
• Be passionate about helping every student achieve beyond expectations.
• Be confident with IT and recognise the role of technology in learning.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships by encouraging and supporting pupils in a respectful, non-judgmental manner.
• Work with students in class, small groups, and on a one-to-one basis.
• Support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Physical and Sensory Needs, and SEMH.
• Provide tailored support from mobility and access to resources to help students regulate emotions and engage with learning.
