Job summary

Brent Primary School in NW10 is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support children with SEND within a mainstream EYFS setting. You will focus on early phonics and literacy, helping build foundations for reading and language.

Role involves 1:1 support and working with a small team, delivering engaging, play-based activities and collaborating with the EYFS Lead to ensure consistent learning and confident, independent learners.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD in EYFS/SEND settings.
• Understanding of early phonics and reading development.
• Able to work collaboratively with a small team and follow guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support in a mainstream primary class.
• Support early phonics and literacy, focusing on sounds and letter awareness.
• Assist with phonics activities planned by the EYFS Lead, using engaging play.
• Help develop phonemic awareness, listening and early reading skills.
• Support communication and language development with visual supports where appropriate.
