Job summary

Brent Primary School in Brent, London is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children with special educational needs within an ASD-focused environment. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce early phonics, literacy and communication skills, following guidance from the EYFS Lead and the class team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD in an EYFS or SEND setting.
• Good understanding of early phonics and literacy development.
• Ability to work 1:1 and with small groups under EYFS supervision.
• Patient, nurturing and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Support children one-to-one and in small groups with early phonics and literacy activities.
• Assist with phonics interventions and literacy tasks planned by the EYFS Lead.
• Help children with transitions, routines and personal care as required.
• Collaborate with the EYFS Lead and other LSAs to maintain a consistent learning environment.
• Encourage child confidence, engagement and independent learning through positive support.
