Job summary

Stockport School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support teaching, learning and progress and to help students develop independent learning skills. The role focuses on students with additional learning needs, including those with EHCPs and SEN School Support.

Strong GCSEs in English and Maths are required; a graduate with an honours degree or higher qualification is desirable, with QTS or TA status beneficial.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have strong GCSE passes in English and mathematics at minimum grades C/4 or above.
• Graduate with a good Honours Degree or higher qualification is desirable.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching, learning and progress of students.
• Develop independent learning skills in students.
• Support students with additional learning needs (EHCPs) and SEN School Support.
• Oversee reading and literacy interventions, and provide lunch duties and enrichment activities.
