Learning Support Assistant
Brent
£25,914 per annum inclusive of SEN Allowance

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and welcoming special school. Interested candidates must share our motto: ‘Love, Learn, Laugh.’

We are looking for:

1. Positive, energetic, and creative learning support assistants with a love of teaching and learning;
2. Applicants with a keen interest in special needs;
3. Individuals capable of working in partnership with their class teacher;
4. Learning Support Assistants with experience in positively managing behaviour.

Experience:

1. Previous successful experience working with or caring for children with special needs;
2. Experience in the care and education of children who are chronologically or developmentally younger than their age;
3. Experience observing, monitoring, and evaluating children’s progress.

Knowledge:

1. Alternative communication systems such as PECs, Makaton;
2. Understanding of basic learning strategies (good standard in English and Maths);
3. Understanding of child development and learning principles;
4. Knowledge of child protection and Health and Safety procedures.

Skills:

1. Commitment to continuous learning within a learning environment;
2. Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with pupils, teachers, and carers;
3. Numeracy skills appropriate to the learning levels of target pupils.
