Job summary

Stockton Riverside College is part of The Education Training Collective (Etc.). We are seeking a Learning Support Carer/Assistant to join the Learning Support team on a maternity cover basis.

The role focuses on personal care, safeguarding, and supporting students with learning difficulties to access lessons and activities. The successful candidate will work closely with tutors to tailor learning approaches, maintain learners’ dignity and privacy, and promote independence.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Carer/Assistant to join our Learning Support team reporting to our Learning Support Coordinators. The Learning Support department provides an exceptional service across the group to support all students who have declared a learning difficulty or disability, along with those who are identified during their college journey.

As a Learning Support Carer/Assistant with Stockton Riverside College, you will be responsible for: providing personal care and support, including the safe manual handling to support students to maintain their dignity and privacy: administering medication, if required, working with teaching staff to plan and adjust learning methods for students who require additional support, developing strategies to respond to additional learning support needs of individuals and groups, developing strategies to promote independence and resilience in learners with support needs.
