Job summary

Botley School in the Oxford area is seeking a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to help pupils succeed. The role may include one-to-one support for children with additional needs alongside general classroom duties, working 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

You will work closely with teachers to support literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum, foster positive relationships with pupils and families, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Enjoy working with children and building positive relationships.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in groups.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
• Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation.
• Support literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in educational visits and school activities.
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and policies at all times.
