Long-term teachers are working with a fantastic college based in Yeovil, who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis, starting from January.

About the role:

The college supports students aged 16 to 25, all of whom have special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties, communication difficulties, and SEMH. The college aims to improve students' quality of life and post-education opportunities by providing a rich curriculum. Their timetable includes life skills, GCSEs, work experience opportunities, and enrichment activities.

You will be expected to work Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, for 39 weeks a year.

Main Responsibilities

• Utilising strategies from students’ Positive Behaviour Support Plans, Communication Plans, and Sensory Diets to support students in engaging effectively in learning, whether on-site, in accommodations, or in the community.
• Working closely with tutors to follow session plans and schemes of work within education, and reporting on students' progress to inform future planning.
• Developing learning resources tailored to students’ communication needs.
• Liaising with education, care, and clinical staff to provide a multidisciplinary approach to supporting student outcomes.
• Supporting students to engage in a range of enrichment activities, including accessing local leisure facilities or day trips across Somerset.

Working with Long-Term Teachers:
