Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of West Lancashire College, is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support across the curriculum in a flexible, ongoing capacity. This is an ideal entry point for graduates or staff seeking experience in a supportive college environment.

You will work to support learners both in and out of the classroom, assisting with tasks and contributing to an inclusive learning atmosphere. Weekly pay and opportunities to progress are offered.

The Supply Register is working in partnership with West Lancashire College to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support across their curriculum. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced support staff, or individuals looking to gain experience within a supportive college environment.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting learners both in and out of the classroom.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners
  • Support students with additional learning needs and varying abilities
  • Assist lecturers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Support students with academic tasks and personal development
  • Encourage learner confidence, independence, and progression

Essential
  • Passion for supporting young people and adults in education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, proactive, and supportive approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with learners and staff
Desirable
  • Degree or relevant qualification
  • Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults
  • Interest in teaching, SEN, or support roles
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • No prior school or college experience? That's okay - full support and guidance will be provided.
