Job summary

Randstad Education is supporting a SEMH school in Littlehampton to recruit learning support assistants for a September start. This temporary role offers term-time hours, with a view to a permanent position after a 12-week probation and a salary pathway linked to the annual equivalent (£23,000 pa).

Hours are 08:30–15:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:30–15:00 Fridays. The successful candidate will have an Enhanced DBS, 6+ months mental health or crisis support experience, and a Trauma-informed

Qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in mental health, crisis support, or youth justice.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car due to remote location.
  • Trauma-informed approach to learning and support.
  • Willingness to provide personal care.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners at a SEMH school in Littlehampton.
  • Assist during September start with term-time hours.
  • Cover hours: Mon-Thu 08:30–15:30 and Fri 08:30–15:00.
  • Assist with personal care as needed.

Job description

Temporary role (£89-100 per day) with a view to a permanent role transition (£23,000 per annum) after a 12-week probationary period.

We are looking for learning support assistants to join the supportive and fulfilling community at our SEMH school based in Littlehampton. Roles available to start in September and term time working only to allow for freedom during the school holidays.

Salary: £89-100 per day

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday (08:30-15:30) and Friday (08:30-15:00).

Essentials:

  • Have or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in mental health, crisis support, or youth justice.
  • Grades 4/C in English and Maths GCSE
  • A driving licence and access to a car (due to the campus' remote location).
  • Trauma-informed approach to learning and support.
  • Willingness to do personal care.
