Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Southport from September 2026.

You will support pupils with SEND across the primary age range, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored help, helping pupils access learning and reach individual targets. The role requires recent UK primary school experience, a background in SEND support (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs), and a patient,

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS via Update Service.
• Patient, resilient, nurturing with a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND across the primary age range to access learning and achieve targets.
• Collaborate with class teacher and SENCO, and engage with parents and other professionals.
• Provide tailored support and promote development of confidence and independence.
• Assist with maintaining positive classroom behaviour and inclusive learning environment.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets.
