Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Billinge from September 2026. You will support pupils with SEND across the primary age range, working with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor support and help pupils access learning.

This full-time role emphasises developing confidence and achieving individual targets, with opportunities for ongoing CPD and progression across education opportunities in the North-West.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a UK primary school or similar educational setting
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties)
• Ability to support children with additional needs, including challenging behaviours
• Patient, resilient and nurturing, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork with teachers, the SENCO, parents and other professionals
• Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Location: Billinge Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time Duration: 6 MonthsTradewind Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Billinge from September 2026.

This is a full-time role supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets. The position is initially until October Half Term, with the opportunity to continue beyond this for the right candidate. The school has an excellent reputation for its inclusive approach, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

The successful candidate will:

• Have recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
• Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
• Be confident supporting children with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours.
• Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, working effectively alongside teachers, the SENCO, parents, and other professionals.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
