Job summary

Vision for Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in various SEN schools across Rotherham. You will support pupils with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours to engage in lessons and activities.

The role offers flexible start dates with part-time or full-time hours and a daily rate of £93.83. You will be part of a dedicated team, with training and development opportunities and access to a supportive consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable.
• Be DBS checked or willing to apply for an enhanced DBS.
• Provide details of two referees who can support your application.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning disabilities to engage in lessons and activities.
• Encourage participation in physical activities, crafts and classroom tasks.
• Adapt support to students with autism, language difficulties and ADHD.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be supporting pupils with Learning Disabilities and Challenging behaviours to work to the best of their ability in order to make the most of their education and learning. You will be required to assist and encourage the young adults to take part in all activities and tasks carried out by the school including physical activity, lessons and crafts.

These students have needs such as autism, developmental language disorder, speech and language difficulties, ADHD, PMLD, SLD and moderate learning difficulties. This role can be very rewarding for somebody who is wanting to make a positive impact on a young person’s life.

Role Requirements

• Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
• An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one
• Be able to provide details of 2 willing and relevant referees
• The ability to work on initiative and proactively
• A passion for education and motivation to making a difference for our young people
