Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work in Caterham, Kenley, Redhill, Croydon and Surrey schools. The role involves providing tailored support to pupils with a range of needs and working with teachers, therapists and support staff to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.

You will support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, SEMH, and physical/complex needs, helping them participate in lessons and activities

Qualifications

  • Experience in SEN schools or mainstream schools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Encourage participation and engagement in lessons and activities.
  • Promote communication, independence and confidence.
  • Support positive behaviour using individual strategies.
  • Assist with sensory, practical and therapeutic activities where appropriate.
  • Support pupils during breaktimes, lunchtime and educational visits.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families to track pupil progress.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Pay: Day rate - £107.71-£112.00 (dependent on experience) | Weekly Pay

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing tailored support throughout the school day. Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff, you'll help create an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil can succeed.

You'll be supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Physical disabilities and complex learning needs
What You'll Be Doing
