Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Rotherham with a September 2026 start. You will provide targeted support to students, helping them engage with learning and develop confidence in the classroom.

This role welcomes those with experience in education, youth work, coaching, or care environments, and requires a patient, caring approach. An Enhanced DBS on Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Confidence supporting students with additional educational or behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support across a range of curriculum subjects.
  • Support students with additional learning needs (ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD).
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation during lessons.
  • Help students build confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to deliver effective support strategies.
  • Provide support both inside and outside the classroom where appropriate.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that enable students to thrive.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for students who require additional assistance in the classroom. You'll help remove barriers to learning, encourage engagement, and support students in developing the confidence and independence they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
