Randstad UK is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support secondary pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Romford. You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access the curriculum and reach their EHCP targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting secondary-aged children or young people with SEN.
• Enhanced DBS check on update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK - Sponsorship not available.
• Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting learning.
• Being passionate about helping vulnerable pupils overcome learning barriers.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with Special Educational Needs (e.g. ASC, ADHD, SEMH)
• Create a positive and adapted learning environment that fits individual EHCP targets
• Help pupils access the curriculum by breaking down tasks into manageable steps
• Ability to communicate with and encourage children with additional academic or emotional needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCOs to implement effective support strategies
• Track and report on student progress and emotional well-being
• Assist with classroom setup and facilitate inclusive learning routines
