Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work across Peterlee and surrounding areas. The role runs full time during term time, with hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm, starting September 2026.
You will support pupils in class, in 1:1 and small groups, and help develop literacy, numeracy, and independence while promoting positive behaviour. Experience as TA/LSA or related roles is valued, and transferable skills from other youth or childcare roles are welcomed.

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within schools across Peterlee and the surrounding area.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children and young people and wants to support them not only academically, but also with their confidence, communication, behaviour and independence.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive the support they need throughout the school day.

You may already have experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, SEN TA, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker, Mentor, Sports Coach, Support Worker or Childcare Practitioner.
We are also happy to consider candidates looking to move into education who can demonstrate strong transferable skills.
Because Peterlee covers a number of surrounding communities and some school locations can be harder to reach via public transport, drivers are ideally wanted.
However, this is not an essential requirement and candidates without a car are still encouraged to apply if they can reliably travel to their placement.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
