Job summary

The County High School, Leftwich in Cheshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant on a permanent, part-time basis (32.5 hours per week) to join the SEND team. The role focuses on supporting teachers, delivering learning activities, and supporting students' development.

You will require GCSEs in English/Maths/Science and experience with young people aged 11-16, with a passion for education and the ability to motivate students. The post is term-time only, with a start date of 5 October 2026.

Qualifications

  • The ability to inspire students to reach their individual potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in the development and education of students, assisting in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes.
  • Undertake predetermined activities with students so that their intellectual and social development is fostered.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and inclusion in line with school policies.

Job description

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Salary: Grade 4 (SCP 5 to SCP 6) £26,427 - £26,847 (FTE Salary) / £19,515 - £20,274 (Actual Salary)

Contract type: Permanent, Part time

Reporting to: SENDCO

Start date: 5th October 2026

Working Pattern: Term Time Only (32.5 hours per week)

This role is based at The County High School, Leftwich, which is a high performing, fully inclusive, co-educational, 11-16 school with approximately 1050 students, 60 teaching and 60 support staff. The school serves a mixed catchment area with a Published Admission Number of 210, and we are now significantly over-subscribed.

About the Role

We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our thriving, hardworking SEND team at The County High School Leftwich on a permanent basis.

You will be responsible for supporting teaching staff in the development and education of students, assisting in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes and undertake predetermined activities with students so that their intellectual and social development (including self-reliance and self-esteem) are fostered.
