Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute break)
Pay Rate: 13.69 to 15.87 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (potential for a permanent school contract)
Reeson Education is currently recruiting a calm, resilient, and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a small, supportive SEN school in Wythenshawe. This Learning Support Assistant role is full-time, long-term, and has the potential to lead to a direct contract with the school.
The school caters to pupils who find it difficult to thrive in mainstream settings due to a range of complex needs including ASD, SEMH, communication challenges, ADHD, and other barriers to learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting students in small class groups and 1:1, helping them access learning and grow in confidence.

Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:
Support teaching and learning across a range of age groups and needs
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
Assist in implementing EHCP strategies and behaviour support plans
Encourage independence, self-regulation, and emotional well-being
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN specialists to deliver tailored support
The Ideal Learning Support Assistant Will:
Have experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar SEN role
Be patient, consistent, and confident in a SEN environment
Understand how to support pupils with ASD, SEMH, and communication needs
Be comfortable working flexibly across different classes and key stages
Have excellent relationship-building and communication skills
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
Right to work in the UK
Recent references covering the last 2-3 years
Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN
