Job summary

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with learning difficulties/disabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Assisting students in mainstream classes, small groups, and 1-1 settings to support their achievement and progress.
2. Motivating and encouraging students to engage in their learning.
3. Developing and implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
4. Working closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate for the Learning Support Assistant role will have:

• A good understanding of SEND and experience working with children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties) or a willingness to undertake training to support children in this key area.
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, including Maths and English GCSE graded 4 (or equivalent).
• The ability to motivate and encourage students.
