Job summary

Protocol National Limited in Wirral is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the Additional Needs team. This part-time role supports learners with various needs to reach their full potential, providing in-class support, promoting independence, and contributing to an inclusive learning environment.

The position is starting September 2026, with approximately 24 hours across 3 days per week and flexibility in hours where discussed.

Qualifications

• Experience with learners with additional needs is desirable.
• Patient, empathetic and committed to inclusive education.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Willing to work toward a relevant support/education qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 ST&L).
• Demonstrates a proactive and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
• Assist lecturers in delivering differentiated learning activities.
• Support students with EHCPs, SEND needs, or barriers to learning.
• Help students develop independence, confidence, and study skills.
• Contribute to monitoring student progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college procedures.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSA) to join the Additional Needs (AN) team at a further education college in Wirral. These are part-time positions starting in September 2026, supporting learners with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential.

You will play a key role in providing in-class support, promoting independence, and helping create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs
• Assist lecturers in delivering differentiated learning activities
• Support students with EHCPs, SEND needs, or barriers to learning
• Help students develop independence, confidence, and study skills
• Contribute to monitoring student progress and wellbeing
• Maintain accurate records in line with college procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with young people or adults with additional needs (desirable)
• Is patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant support or education qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning)
• Demonstrates a proactive and flexible approach
