Job summary

Plumpton College is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to support students, including those with SpLD, with their personal, social and educational progression needs. You will help students access welfare services and work to enable successful learning outcomes.

The role combines permanent hours and a fixed-term element with potential for additional hours depending on business need. CPD opportunities are provided to all staff, and benefits include pension, parking, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic assistance for students with SpLD, supporting personal, social and emotional needs alongside learning and progression needs.
• Assist students in accessing welfare services and monitor progress towards learning objectives.
• Support successful completion and progression in learning through proactive engagement and collaboration with staff.

Description

The role is made of up of 2 days a week on a permanent contract, and 3 days a week on a fixed-term contract until the end of this academic year (21/6/27). There is a likelihood that there will be an opportunity for additional permanent hours after this time, although this will be determined by business need, so cannot be guaranteed. Please specify on your application which hours you are interested in.

Due to an increase in student numbers we are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. In this critical role, you will form an integral part of our growing Inclusive Learning and Developmentteam, providing support to our students.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide holistic assistance for students with SpLD supporting their personal, social and emotional needs alongside their learning and progression needs. The role will also involve supporting students in accessing welfare services. You will play a key role in helping students to successfully complete and achieve in their learning. The ideal candidate will be a professional, hardworking and confident team player with experience of working with students with SEND.
