Job summary

St Luke’s Park Primary School is seeking a reliable Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly team. The role involves supporting pupils in lessons, running interventions, and assisting teachers to enable access to learning for children, including those with additional needs.

Experience is desirable but not essential; strong communication and numeracy/ literacy skills are required. Term-time contract; DBS check and references will be required.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent).
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Experience with pupils who require additional support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in lessons and small-group interventions.
• Assist with 1-2-1 pupil support and adapt activities to need.
• Liaise with teachers and other staff to plan and deliver inclusive learning.

St Luke’s Park Primary School is part of Quantum Multi-Academy Trust and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and capable learning support assistant who will have a positive impact on the children that they work with. Previous experience is highly desirable but not essential. You will be joining a team of hard working, friendly and adaptable LSAs working under the direction of class teachers supporting in lessons and running interventions.

This contract is fixed term until 31.08.2027 as working with a pupil on the autistic spectrum, to enable them to access learning opportunities in the school environment. Suitable candidates will be adaptable, have a good sense of humour and experience of working with pupils who experience difficulties in self-regulation.

Although initially the role is likely to involve 1-2-1 working, candidates should be able to interact with a wide range of children and use their own interpersonal skills to encourage the most from the children. Supporting groups of pupils and individuals including those with additional needs would also be part of this role.

Suitable candidates will need to be able to work as part of a team and be able to liaise with other members of staff. The successful applicant will be organised with good communication skills, able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility, and understand the professional nature of the role.

Together with the above attributes, a good standard of English and mathematics is required.

Qualifications: good numeracy and literacy skills – (GCSE or equivalent in English and maths are highly desirable).
