Job summary

East Sussex College Group in Hastings is recruiting for roles that support young people on their college journey. You will work in a classroom setting and during breaks, implement support plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote student progress and safety.

You’ll report outcomes at reviews to teachers and parents. The roles require collaboration, a holistic approach to developing communication and independence, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Experience working collaboratively in a holistic way to develop students' communication and independence skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting young people in a classroom setting and during breaktime activities.
  • Implementing a student's support plan and safety assessment.
  • Working within a team of multidisciplinary professionals to support our students.
  • Helping track progress and reporting to the teacher and/or parents at review meetings.

These exciting roles will include:
  • Supporting our young people in a classroom setting and during breaktime activities
  • Implementing a student's support plan and safety assessment
  • Working within a team of friendly multidisciplinary professionals across the college to support our students
  • Helping track the progress of individuals and reporting to the teacher and/or parents at review meetings
If you can demonstrate the following, then we’d love to hear from you:
  • You are collaborative and able to work as part of team.
  • Previous experience of working collaboratively in a holistic way to develop students' communication and independence skills to ensure they reach their potential.

Interview Dates: W/C 31st August 2026
College location: Hastings Station Plaza

Annual Salary: Circa £24,900 per annum (full-time equivalent), pro rata based on the hours and weeks worked.

Example: If your start date is 1 September, your salary would be approximately £9,480 per annum.

Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week, Term Time Only, working 36weeks per year.
