Job summary

King's Academy Bay House in Gosport is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEND, in class, small groups, and one-to-one settings. You will build trusting relationships, assist with learning, and help pupils regulate emotions, stay safe, and engage with lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a wide range of needs across cognition, learning, communication, physical and SEMH.
  • Provide tailored support, from mobility and resource access to helping regulate emotions and engage with learning.

Job description

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will:

  • Build trusting relationships by encouraging and supporting pupils in a respectful, non-judgmental manner
  • Work with students in class, small groups, and on a one-to-one basis
  • Support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Physical and Sensory Needs, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Provide tailored support, from mobility and access to resources, to helping students regulate emotions and engage with learning
