Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced SEN school in Essex for a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP. You will provide 1:1 and small group support for primary and secondary students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD and communication needs.

Ideal candidates are calm, resilient and team oriented, with experience across age groups and a willingness to support personal care where needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach to learning and engagement.
  • Confident supporting primary and secondary pupils across ages.
  • Willing to obtain or maintain Enhanced DBS on Update Service.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.

Are you a patient, caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant looking to start a new role as soon as possible where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are working with a well-resourced and highly supportive SEN school in Essex that caters for both primary and secondary-aged pupils. They are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school where pupil wellbeing, personalised support and long-term development are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes

  • Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils
  • Willing to support personal care where needed
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Both experienced SEN Teaching Assistants and strong mainstream TAs looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply.
