Vision for Education in Eastbourne is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with autism and additional needs. You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and deliver tailored strategies, promoting emotional regulation, engagement and progress.

The role requires resilience, empathy and a calm, proactive approach, with opportunities to develop skills through supportive teamwork and ongoing training.

• Desirable: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant (not essential).
• Prior school experience with SEND, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Confident in behaviour management to de-escalate aggression.
• Team Teach or PRICE trained (desirable).
• Resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things personally.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and confident Learning Support Assistant who has a strong understanding of supporting pupils with autism and additional needs. You'll play a vital role in providing targeted supportfor a pupil with autism, helping them to regulate their emotions, engage with learning and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and another experienced support professional, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of tailored strategies that support positive behaviour, emotional regulation and access to the curriculum. Your experience will allow you to recognise triggers, implement effective interventions and adapt your approach to meet the child's individual needs.

We are seeking a calm, patient and proactive professional who is confident in building strong relationships and creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment. You will bring creativity and initiative to the role, using engaging and purposeful activities to promote independence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:

• Desirable: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant (not essential)

• Desired: Team teach or PRICE trained.
