Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is working with a specialist SEND school in Chelmsford to recruit SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSA). The role involves supporting children aged 3-19 with SLD and PMLD, in learning, communication, and daily activities.

Successful candidates will join a dedicated team, with flexible hours across part-time and full-time contracts. Training, CPD, and a referral scheme are offered. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience with SLD and/or PMLD is desirable.
• Experience providing one-to-one or small group support.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt support to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SLD/PMLD in learning, communication and personal development.
• Assist with day-to-day needs and help create a safe, positive environment.
• Work across part-time and full-time contracts as required by the school.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Chelmsford supporting children and young people aged 3-19. The school provides a supportive learning environment for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties / PMLD.

The school is looking to take on a SEND LSA, with a mixture of part-time and full-time opportunities available across varying contract lengths. The successful SEND LSA will support pupils with SLD and PMLD with their learning, communication, personal development and day-to-day needs while helping to create a safe and positive environment.

The successful SEND LSA will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Experience working with SLD and/or PMLD is desirable
• Experience providing one-to-one or small group support
• A patient, caring and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to adapt support to meet individual needs
