SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Chelmsford, Essex

Start Date: ASAP – After October Half Term

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time, Temporary with Potential for Long-Term Opportunities

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) School in Chelmsford, Essex who are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their team.

The school supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex medical needs, and communication difficulties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEND education, healthcare, residential care or support work who is passionate about helping young people develop their independence, communication and confidence.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will be expected to:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.

The ideal SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working with children or adults with SEND, whether in education, healthcare, care homes or residential settings.
• A patient, caring and understanding approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• A willingness to assist with personal care where necessary.
• Experience supporting individuals with PMLD, SLD or complex medical needs (desirable).
• A relevant SEND, childcare or healthcare qualification (desirable but not essential).
