Job summary

Cheam High School in Cheam, Surrey, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work 32.5 hours per week, term-time only (188 days). Salary will be on CAN scale point 14 (£27,025 FTE, £20,226 pro‑rata).

The role is non-teaching and focuses on supporting students in their school life under the SENCo and senior leaders. As part of a team, you will collaborate with teaching and support staff, parents and external agencies, promoting learning and well‑being throughout the day.

Job Introduction

Salary will be based on the CAN salary scale point 14 (£27,025 full time equivalent, £20,226 actual pro‑rata salary). The post is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only (188 days). The working day will start at 8.20 am and finish at 3.50 pm.

This is a non‑teaching post which gives the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life.

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will be part of a team working under the direction of the SENCo and Assistant Headteacher, or allocated for day‑to‑day management to the Leaders of Mathematics, English, Science or other departments.

Key responsibilities include working effectively with teaching and support staff at all levels, parents/carers, students and external agencies.

You will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning and well‑being throughout the school day.
