Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Contract type: Full-time/ long term

Start Date: Immediately

A School in Brentwood is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. As an LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with diverse learning needs.
  2. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring students are fully engaged in learning activities.
  3. Support students with their academic tasks, including reading, writing, and numeracy.
  4. Encourage positive behaviour and provide emotional support where needed.
  5. Work closely with class teachers to tailor learning strategies and activities that best suit individual student needs.
  6. Monitor student progress and assist with record-keeping of their academic and behavioural development.
  7. Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
  8. Inspire the students to reach their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a learning support role.
  2. A passion for supporting children to reach their full potential.
  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  4. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  5. GCSE's grade C (pass) or above.
  6. Relevant experience working with children that have special educational needs.
